Patient care - HCM Clinic

How do you treat HCM?

The majority of patients can be treated with medications alone.

For those patients whose medication therapy does not relieve their symptoms, surgical correction or alcohol septal ablation may be recommended.

The risk of sudden cardiac death ranges from 1-5% per year. These patients can be identified depending on their history and symptoms. Implantable cardiac defibrillators(AICD) are used in preventing sudden cardiac death.
